PRESS RELEASE: Earth Hour Maldives Malé events cancellation
Ecocare Maldives would like to express our disappointment over government’s decision to cancel all official Earth Hour Maldives events in Malé, including the main switch off event and music show.
We would like to appreciate the efforts of Earth Hour Maldives Country Team and other partner organizations that have tirelessly been working to organize these events in Malé.
Despite government’s disapproval on celebrating Earth Hour in Malé, Ecocare Maldives would like to call all organizations, institutions and corporates to switch off your lights and participate in the hour! Be part of the global movement from 20:30hrs to 21:30! We encourage all individuals to take part and use your power to change climate change!
At this time we also want to send a big thank you to Earth Hour Maldives Country team and the Scout Association of Maldives, specially the country manager and core team who has been the organizers of past six Earth Hour events in the country. We are deeply grateful for your efforts.
